Default 2008 Outlaw IRS

I have a '08 Outlaw IRS that has 15 hrs. on it. It has been at the dealers 3 times because the motor just 'dies' after about an hour riding time. It starts up after a few minutes but then does it again a few miles down the road. The dealer rejetted the carb for me because of the K&N air filter, adjusted the valves, replaced the plug, then replaced a ignition pulsar that he said went bad on a lot of 525's (under warranty). It still does it. Is anyone having the same problem? Is there anything else I should look for beside a new dealer? Thanks

Does it lose spark when it dies?Have you checked the screens in the carb for blockage?Just trying to narrow it down to fuel or ignition.

Make sure all vent tubes are not blocked. You could be getting vapor locked in which it will stall. Next time it does it, take off your gas cap. If it starts, then the vent line is plugged.

plumbob, it's hard to tell, it sputters a little then dies, so it's hard to see if it is spark. It won't start right up, it will turn over though. As it was dieing once I choked it, and it made no difference. I havn't tried to see if it has spark when it won't start but I will

GE4X4, will the vent suddenly come into play after an hour of riding?

fuel will continue to fall into the fuel line until it creates enough vacuum to defy gravity. and depending on how you ride (as in how much you stay on the throttle) an hour sounds about the right amount of time to create such a vacuum. i would loosen the cap on the tank as my first check since its the easiest and cheapest fix.

Take an extra spark plug with you and when it dies pull the plug wire off and plug the spare in and then try cranking the motor over.
