Can't wait for new Kaw 650
#4
I can't wait to see how the Kawa 650 does myself. this is great for ATVing in general ...more choice...more competition...and now I will start going to the Kawasaki forum more often....now all we need is for Suzuki to release a fast sportbike and it will seem like old times. Suzuki made some fine sport bikes in the past, as did Kawasaki. I like the thought of having more bikes to choose from. Plus, this will really expand the flame wars (well maybe not so good).
I have to say it is kinda premature to crown the Kawa 650 as noone has one yet, but the rear brake system sounds good to go....plus all of that low-end torque....woohoo!!!

Packrat: and then you woke up ! Do I hear a challenge in that arrogant post? Tell you what, I will own a 650 very soon, let's chain them together and see how fast you can drive in reverse. A 500 single vs a 650 twin do you know anything about torque. come on!!?!

NEPHI,Im talking about deep rutted out mud might be our only chance at getting over on that beast.Seems to me any thing with that straight across axle rearend likes to get hung up in the deep stuff. If youve ever played in the deep you'd know what Im talking about.Im wondering if the extra weight on the H.O. would give it the advantage in a pull.I guess we'll have to wait and see.I hope they just keep making them engines bigger and bigger. You guys are right, its good times for us atv enthusiast. Oh by the way I also have 28" outlaws.

Weight WILL have an effect on the usefulness of more horsepower. For example, tractors, you can have two different brand tractors say 50 hp and somewhat equal on the torque curve each. However the one that weighs MORE (3800 lbs vs. 3500 lbs)is going to be MORE effective in heavy duty pulling simply because it can get more usable horsepower to the ground. Sometimes more hp is not the answer, making available horsepower more usable IS.
