New Polaris XP
Yeah, I said the same thing when this was mentioned in my thread. The old location pulls down on the nose unless you are winching from something very high. So it just tries to dig the front making the winch have to work alot harder and stresses the mount and frame alot more than a straight or slightly upward pull would. And if you are trying to winch another machine or log ect where the attach point is lower than the winch, which is most times, it will compress the front suspension. I have actually lifted the rear wheels on my 800 winching, feels like it cant be good for the frame. On another note notice how the XP winch mounts, it is ALOT stonger, the bolts enter from the sides and screw into nut plates. The regular Sportsman's mount has them coming in from the front and they are self tapping bolts screwing into the box frame. When you winch something fairly heavy you can actually see the winch move forward and tilt down a little as the mount/frame flex. That doesn't happen on the XP.
