Default 96 Sportman 400L antifreeze in engine case

My son has an 96 sportsman 400L 4x4. I put new top and bottom gaskets on cyl. thinking it was just the head gasket. Checked cylinder and head and could see no cracks, etc. Put engine back together and when pull starting (with crank case drain plug out) antifreeze comes out. Could this be something to do with the water pump? pump seal? Need help
thanks
hunt

If there is coolant in the crankcase, that means the water pump seals are bad and the counter balancer shaft is worn and the balancer bearings are probably bad and the antifreeze got thru the crank seal and probably ruined the crank bearings. The motor needs to come out. Polaris` price on the crankshaft is not that bad, the counter balancer is ridiculis. The balancer bearing can be pressed on and off, just mark it before you push it apart, if the shaft is not worn too bad.

you can replace the seals and countershaft without pulling the engine.I have found on the counterballance you can shut fuel off) roll the machine on the left side and get the waterpump and all the goodies out and in.The crank seals arent that bad to do with engine in the frame either just have to pull the clutches and the flywheel and make a small puller.
