Default I think I screwed up the front hub

Ok call me stupid, now I know.

This weekend I replaced the CV boots on my 94 Sportsman 400 4X4. When putting it back together I used some of the leftover CV grease to put on the cone bearings. Was this a no-no?. Were they supposed to be lubed by the demand drive fluid ?
