Ball joints
#11
Puller has a thick plate that mounts to 2 screw slots on strut bottom,a threaded bolt with nut screws through this plate into balljoint.Just hold bolt head and tighten nut which sucks balljoint out. The installer tool is just a large sleeve tapered to fit balljoint and just drives it in flush. Havent checked the tool catalog lately, but think still available as a set like when I got mine years ago. Have heard of some using large sockets to drive in balljoint,BUT have to be careful that no damage to balljoint lip! Good luck

Spring compressor not needed, but a good air impact is handy!!LOWER spindle? If talking about a-arm,just use blunt punch or car balljoint separator, rap sharply, and a-arm will come loose from balljoint.

Not the a-arm, the lower part with those 2 bolts, The top bolt holds the brake line. I was thinking of loosening those and sliding the lower half out. I don't know if it was under pressure. Thanks, AL

remove strut cartridge nut at top, along with plastic bushings, remove tierod from strut,LEAN strut assy out, impact off nut, remove plate and spring,THEN can loosen cartridge bolts and slide cartridge out! OTHERS may do it different ,but this my way, then can remove strut separately. BUT not necessary to remove spring and cartridge IF just replacing ball joint! Can remove as an assembly.
