Exhaust options for 02 SP 700
#1
Good evening,
I am looking to change out the exhaust on my 2002 Sportsman 700. I have the standard issue with a blown out exhaust flange gasket and and thinking about either going to a header style exhaust, or seeing if there is a retrofit for the dual exhaust like the newer 800s have. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I've changed mine over to the 800 style 2 into 1 header, and the White Brothers/Pure Polaris silencer. I love the increased low-end torque, lower noise levels (but nicer sound), etc.... But if you read other posts you'll see that there are exhaust manifold bolt issues - act proactivly and change to studs or otherwise address this problem before it manifests itself and you'll be way ahead of the game.

TB,
Thanks for the responce. Did you upgrade to the studs, or are you have the backing out issue as others are? Where did you get the studs from if you are running them? How does the noise levels compare with the new muffler and exhaust header? Thanks again.

HotSeat Performance has a true dual exhaust for the 700, and if you dont want to go that way, the sp800 2 to 1 header is a very reasonable upgrade, and your stock muffler will work with it.
