My shifter linkage got out of aline with my shifter when it did this i took the linkage off of the shifter to yank it back in to place like i have been doing. It didnt move so i really yanked on it and now i have no 4wd in low or reverse what did i do now
and how do i fix the shifter linkage problem
I have tried adjusting the linkage several times it doesnt seam to help

Gear selector switch is bad....Replace it. THe issue I have is what else broke in the houseing when you pulled hard. It could be that the switch is ok and the gears are out of whack for the shift selector. They are timed so the shifter falls into place in the correct spot for each gear.

 

ok so is the shifter shot since it wont stay lined up

 

You'll have to pull it apert and tell us what you see. If you arn't familier then get a manual of someone who is.

 

i have had it apart before it doesnt look like there is any thing wrong with it. it is like one of the shifter rods has to much travel and is able to get in front of the other piston but i dont know how it gets there it only happens from low to rev and wont come out of rev
