Default the speedometer saga continues

Ok, I took a speedometer off of my friends 2000 Sportsman 500. Before I took it off I verified everything worked on it such as : speedometer, trip, hours, lights ect. So after all this was confirmed I put it in my machine which my speedometer was out. The AWD now works, the lights come on, but it does not register the speed or mileage. I assume there must be a sensor out or something. Any ideas??

Some times cleaning will do,also check wire. It called a "Hall Effect" senor. Mine has not worked for 2 years now. For $80 I just do not care enough about the how fast Im going or if the trip meter and odometer works. The only thing that does work without the senor is the Hour meter and speedo light.
