Mashed Up Front End Need Advice!!!
In anticipation of the upcoming plow season a week ago i put my Glacier 2 plow mount onto my Sportsman 800 hoping to get it out out of the way for when the white stuff comes. Yesterday I was riding through the woods watching my friends who ride dirt bikes hit jumps. I felt like go over one after watching them because of course the big 800 has loads of power. Not knowing anything about jumping i was expecting to clear the jumps just like they did. After physics kicked i realized that and 1000 pound machine [geared up] wont fly through the air 30 feet and land nicely. Instead i went over the jump and didn't get any air whatsoever. What happened was my front end shot up in a wheelie like way and then smacked down to the ground on of course a FAT rock. This took my plow mount and bent it pretty good. I went home took the plow mount off thinking i would bend it back because it didnt look bad only to find that the Bumper Assembly [Fangs as some call it] where the plow mount attaches and the radiator guard also attaches was bent in almost into the radiator and crooked. Its to mashed up to bang back into place and use.
My question is has anyone ever change the brushguard bumper assembly before and if so what do you need to do to get it off. Is it a hard job? Its going to snow within a few weeks and i would like to get this fixed ASAP! Thanks for the help!
