'04 Sporstman 500HO

Owners manual says to take to dealer for inline fuel filter change. Dealer says they
don't have a fuel filter??????????????????????????

It has a carb, not EFI

I have a 2004.5 sp 500 carb. It does have a carb, the fuel filter is either a large white one by the carb or a small one by the fuel pump going to the carb. Mine has a large white one and the dealer told me was not supposed to be like this, they thought it should be a small one by the pump

 

I can't seem to find one, only the inline breather filter.

 

04 fuel filter location.

#3 inline filter on #1 fuel line by fuel pump. Make sure you get the flow direction right when you change it.

 

The parts list shows up, but no diagram. If it's by the pump I'll find it.

guess I'll try another dealer, the one I talked to didn't show it on their graphics
or have a part #????????????????????????????????

 

You have to scroll the small top left window for the diagram.
