Front diff bearing install
Hello I just joined tonight.
I have a sportsman 700 its a 02 model that I bought used I am in need of a schematic or manual. My local dealer is out and has one on order for me. I was really wanting to get these bearings installed on the front diff. I am very much capable on the mechanical side, I have restored several harleys from the ground up. I have never worked on a ATV and I am wondering if there is a good diagram anywhere on the net. I may tackle this without one but like to have it just in case. I am also looking for new front and rear fenders or ones that are in good condition. I have heard that the 500 sportsman fits the 700. Any good sources other than the dealer?
Thanks in advance

Front diff bearing install
welcome. most of the same generation body parts will fit as thier pretty much the same except for engine and a few other small things. theres a site(as always cant remember) that actually sells take off parts that makes products out of the drive train parts. maybe someone here will remember the site. also might be able to down load you a pdf manual for that year.

Hello Rattlerock,
Just be sure that you press on the inner race of the bearing when you are reinstalling the new one. Mount the gear or hub that that bearing gets pressed onto on a solid flat surface (preferably a arbor press) so you can provide even pressure while seating the bearing. Do not hammer the bearing on or again, premature wear may occur. PM me if you need any assistance on reassembling the front drive properly. I helped design it. Regards,
