Well i admit this isn't the first time i've done a burnout by powerbraking...
This time i did it for maybe 5-6 seconds.
So if it is the belt and they don't warranty it, how much would it cost?
I might get them to change all the fluids while it's in there. I changed the oil for the first time today before i went riding.
I have 23hrs and 165 miles</end quote></div>
Have you taken it into the dealer yet?
If so what did they say? How much is this mistake going to set you back? Is it going to be covered by warranty? All or only part?
I hope you get it back soon!
Take care and I hope you have better luck next time...........rancher

Here's another little safety tip for ya too, I learned this one through hard experience. Don't go crazy spinning the back wheels when the front wheels are nearly stationary. EVIDENTLY if there is a very large speed differential between the front and back wheels, the front hillard MAY engage, regardless of the position of the AWD switch. This can be disconcerting if for instance, you are doing donuts in the snow, with the throttle mashed, and you maybe happen to be pointed at a big cedar tree, and then the front hillard engages, failing to fail catastrophically by the way, and all of a sudden instead of going in circles you are going straight, at the aforementioned big tree, and you drive about halfway up it. Wasn't fun.

Good point QBall..I guess we sometimes forget that not everyone who owns a Polaris is aware of these things.
The scenario you described has scared several people and even hurt a few I'm sure. I don't know if you were lucky or unlucky to be able to hang on. I've heard stories of the machine going in one direction and the rider in the other...not funny if someone gets hurt, but it would make a nice video for youtube.

Problem is, that you did this out in the "boonies" with no one else to see it. You should have waited till you were in a parking lot where there would have been people around to applaud and encourage your skill. LOL
Don't sweat it, we've all done dumb things from time to time.

After drinking constantly from the time I got out of work until dawn, I took an M88A1 Recovery Vehicle for a spin. Google it. It's like a wrecker to pull tanks out when they get stuck. I did a lot of damage to the tracks and road wheels because I didn't know how to drive it. I just pushed buttons and stuff until it started then hit the gas pedal. I accidentally tore up some curbs and things. It never would have happened if the motor pool was locked up like it was supposed to be. A fence was down for construction and they didn't post any guards so I walked in and helped myself.
I had a General Court Martial, the worst kind. The maximum punishment at one of those is death, depending on the offense. The army psychologist who examined me didn't say I was crazy but said I wasn't responsible for my actions because of my state of mind. Being on call 1,100 hours straight, and being in a foreign country without seeing your family for years, with a bunch of nukes pointed at you, is enough to stress anyone out. So I drank whenever I was off duty, and I drank so much I lost my mind. Guess what? The judge thought I was responsible for my actions anyway, and I didn't have a jury.
I was sentenced to 10 months of hard labor, aka, breaking big ones into little ones, reduction in rank to private E-1, forfeiture of all pay, and a Bad Conduct Discharge. I can get it upgraded to a General Discharge, but why bother? Believe me I know all about making mistakes and bad decisions. It only takes a brief moment to change your life forever. At least something like blowing a belt won't throw you into a severe chronic depression that lasts for years and makes you think about suicide all the time. You have to look at the bright side.
