Will the 2001 Explore 4x4 (250cc) Handle 25" and 26" Vampires?
#1
Have a new 4x4 250 Explore and want to know will It handle 25" front and 26" rear Vampire's. I have them on my Honda 4x4 and they are the best mud tires and It would be great if the explore could handle them. I figured with a pipe and low range the explore should. But if anyone has tried this please let me know.
Thanks

there is no way a puny 250cc quad will pull those large tires even on hardpack let alone the mud. as i recall your 250 is quite heavy as it is now. dont waste your money on new tires the quad will be a real deal land slug then.

I have a 250 Explorer 250 4x4 and I wanted to put 24" and 25" vampires on my 250. I talked to highlifter and they said it would handle the tires ,but if I were you I would not try 26" vampires, I would go with 24s and 25s on it.I would put a pipe on it to.

It's possible as long as you beef up that clutch and belt.
I recommend a black secondary spring(driven) and a black primary spring(drive), this will give you the torque needed to turn thoughs tires.
Now I want you to get rid of that junk dayco max stock belt polaris puts in their machines and buy a GOODYEAR POWER STREAK BELT. You can pick one up at your local dealer or in the Dennis Kirk catalog www.denniskirk.com .
The belt is engineered for high speed, high horsepower use. It uses heavy guage Flexten Cord which is pound for pound five times stronger than steel. A special tire cord supports the Flexten cord for extra load carrying capacity. Flexten fiber cushion and fabric covered cogs increase heat resistance. To provide long life under rugged conditions.
You can pick one up for about $38 bucks and they come with a 1 year replacement warrenty.
