Even if a warranty would cover my belt ,I would just buy the $80 belt and change it myself in 20 min before I would want my ATV stuck at a dealership for weeks waiting for them to get around to it, even if it was free.

if you want to power brake get a sport bike w/ front brakes. either that save your tires for better use on the trail. imo

Not sure about a 850 but a 800 belt is $63.49 labour who Knows? its really a do it yourself job ? Its like paying a mechanic to change your spark plug, even though a trained monkey could do the job as good,, a mechanic still wants to be paid something even if the task is a no brainer.

Changing a belt can be done by a 6 year old, even if you don't know how to do it, you can spend 2 minutes looking at the machine to figure it out, or there is a you tube video that shows it.

Like Mechanike said, I'm pretty sure he took it in because he was afraid it was more serious than just the belt and didn't ant to break into it and take the chance on losing the slight possiblity of getting it warrantied.

You are correct HO

I was guessing I did more damage than just a belt... Tomorrow is 2 weeks at the dealer and i still haven't gotten a call from them... I'm about to call and find out wtf is going on....

Now I wish I had kept it and replaced the belt myself.

I did read the owners manual and WAS aware of the front lever working front and rear brakes. It's basically the same as on the AC which I have replaced brakes on before.

I saw a video on youtube of someone doing a spinout via holding the lever. Eventually the rear wheel brakes loosen up and the rear wheels spin. I have done this a few times before with no immediate problems....

Live and learn. I know I'm not the first to make a stupid move on an atv and I won't be the last....
