Ever had Dunlops on a stock prairie or brute force? I have, and they are worse than the terrathons. Not saying they are good....not really at all. The PXT's are much better for mud, but I bet the terrathons are better in snow. Very similar to a MTR, which are very good in the snow.

Not according to dslanec's post.

I had mine out in the snow yesterday. I also had my 07 800 to compare against. In places that I was getting stuck on the xp the 800 crawled right through. I have the stock pxt tires on the 800. IMO the tires are not even close for traction. I was really hoping for better performance in the snow as I drive alot in winter and stay away from the mud in summer. But now as soon as I get enough coin I will be gettinf atermarket tires.</end quote></div>

Ya, really depends on if you want to dig through the snow or ride on the snow.

I had MST's and Bighorns for my brute. The MST's dug through the snow better and got to solid ground. The Bighorns floated better and got traction on the snow itself. Very different tires for different types of riding. I preferred the bighorns and will be putting them on the XP.

Excellent... more good press on the Bighorns! That's what I've decided to get for mine. Sounds like they fit my style of riding to the letter.

I struggled whether to go with Bighorns or the XTRs,had it not been for the awesome deal I got on the XTRs I would have likley went with the Bighorns.

I've decided to go with Bighorns but what wheels are available in 14" that will hold up to rocks. The stock steel wheels on my 07 bend and get bent back but I'm worried about the stock wheels on the XP holding up.

the stock XP wheels are aluminum, unless you have the browning edition, It would take a lot to bend an aluminum wheel like that

The best tires for snow would be the tallest, skinnyest ones with deep lugs set far apart. Fat tire push snow like a plow.

Is that why the wide tracks work so well?
