Starter Removal 400 exployer

Default Starter Removal 400 exployer

[img]i/expressions/beer.gif[/img]400 polaris exployer 400 4X4 1997 2 stroke. Pulled remote starter and under pan. removed bolts however cannot get to one bracket bolt...is it necessary to remover clutch assembly.

You can get at it...patience. I used a open end with a vise grip clamped on the box end to get the length/angle I needed.
Pull the recoil cover, get the bolts inside that which is the easy part, remove the skid plate and have some patience with those bracket bolts. They'll come off, might only be a 1/8 turn at a time...but they'll come off.

No need to pull the clutch/cover. You could also gain access to the bracket bolts from above but I didn't need to...I think you can get at it if you pull the air box.
