It wont hurt anything but can I ask WHY.Aftermarket mufflers and correctly modded stockers will help power a little. Most the real power is hidden in the clutching

Yeah it will definitely hurt something and hurt it bad. Our sport. The last thing anyone should be doing is making their machine louder. Noise is one of the top things that get trails and riding areas closed down and wreck our image with the general public.
So yeah, if you want to make it nice and noisy rip the muffler apart, sound insulate your garage and close it up tight and then you can sit in there and rev your engine for hours on end to your hearts content. It will sound all cool and you won't be pissing off everyone in earshot, endangering our sport and closing riding areas for everyone else.

I agree with the Captain of this one. It's like the bikers who say loud pipes save lives, and I tell them no it doesn't, it just pisses off everyone who has to listen to excesssive noise. Some ATV riding areas have already been closed for that reason.

I agree and disagree here.My Scrambler is on the loud side but it doesnt get ridden
but in ATV parks (it passes the db meter with 8 discs on a WB)
For country rides I have the 330 that is stock and quiet.
Now for loud pipes on bikes I run 36in straight 1 3/4 drag pipes and my Harley is a bit loud and yes it has saved me a few time by scaring off deer and it WILL let the old ladies and kids with thumper sound systems know I am around.Bikes are totally dif situation you have to be seen and heard along with drive defensively to stay alive.

I agree about the noise 100% BUT IMO the anti ATV'ers are going to whine no matter what,it's in their blood. They are miserable with life and hate to see or hear anyone have any type of fun. How dare us ATV riders get a smile from riding!
I do think we should keep it down though so the lil cry babies don't try and close our trails.

Im with you guys on that also, its stupid, stupid. No one thinks you are cooler because you have a loud muffler and can snap the throttle and make it sound like a snowmobile or dirt bike. It is a clear sign of immaturity an that you need some sort of attention. Go give your mom a hug.
Its stupid and whoever does things like that on public land and any type of grant or volenteer trails, I hope they get the proper ticket to go with it.

This is the reason they make dif atvs. Most of you guys ride utes that are for work. Some of us like to have power to play with.Basic simple more air in/more air out= more power. But too much looses power. This is why when you do an exhaust mod you need to use a disc system with end cap to get the power + stay at a reasonable noise level. It is very annoying to ride anywhere with a someone with no muffler or a unplugged muffler
