ya i called polaris dealer where i bought the 800 and they told me that it is not covered under warranty have a nice day !!!!!!</end quote></div>

I would think he might change his mind if he <u>saw </u>them!

Those are going to need to be sandblasted and repainted with some high temp paint to look good again.

Nice ride otherwise!

Well, they block images from photobucket here at work, so I can't see them.

But from the description from others, it almost sounds like it was in a flood. And the dealer sounds like they knew this.

I had flash backs of Katrina salvages when I saw the pics. Top side looks fine, undercarriage not so much. I was exaggerating about a week in saltwater..but definitely something caused some abnormal corrosion to the epesccially to the exhaust, but the harware and bare aluminum underneath that you can see don't look so good either for a machine that new.

rr-john it looks like the front struts might be clean..is the corrosion mostly in the rear? From looking at some other pics in the bucket,I think the rear is where the worst of it is. Everything else looks ok.
Do you ride it on salted roads?

I'd call another dealer. Has the powder coater seen them? Prep, unless you do it,is going to cost more than that IMO..
I don't care how many rusted or did not rust there is a problem there IMO
What does the rest of the exhaust look like? If they weren't exposed to something that accelerated the corrosion then either it is defective materials/coating or the mufflers got too hot IMO. If they got too hot the machine has other issues,ie running too lean, exhaust partially clogged ect...Eitherway odds are it should be covered.

I looked at your link, and have shopped the polaris site. All I see are the standard rack extenders with the tubular round matching material at the mounting points. Maybee I am not looking in the correct place on the site. I think yours look much better. As far as the rust on the mufflers, mine hasnt shown any corrosion yet.
