Default HD springs (Front)

Anyone have the front Polaris HD springs on their
Sportsmans? Does it take care of the sag in the
front once you have the winch installed etc. How
much more load capacity do you get?

How does it handle, any easier to steer?
Since their stiffer does it have a better
feel when nose diving abit on trail.

From exp. I thought the SP800 coming up from
my SP450 was a much better improvement when
I hit trail bumps, holes etc. seemed to absorb more.
Maybe the tires upgrade though Vs. anything else
when I moved up to the 800.

Thanks for the help I may consider buying these HD
to better support my front end.

Cheers,

Rtickwad - I don't have the HD springs - but I did have the spring spacers installed when I bought my machine. Supposed to stiffen the front end some but still offer the "cadillac" ride.

I can tell you that picking up my plow the front end does compress quite a bit though. The HD springs would probably be better when I am plowing, but at the expense of some ride confort.

My brother installed those springs to offset the weight of a winch on the front end. They solved the sag and were not hard to install.

The HD are very good for plowing.......also cheap to buy ( 50 $ can. paire)........but you will sacrifice the plushness ride for sure....supposed to be shorter than the 700/800 spring lenght????

Okay, just for my clarification, did the HD Highlifter springs give you the
2" lift? Or did you add the lift kit with the springs? I like to MUD, but mostly
hit wooded trails and hardpack. I don't want to sacrifice my center of gravity
and make mine TOPSY to hilling or turns. Unless you modied to counter that?

So ONESAVAGE you have not sacrificed your plush ride or stability with these
add-ons? Please advise and thanks for all the info.!

The ride is a little stiffer, but better in my opinion..I installed the H/L springs and the 2"spacer kit, easy install in about a hour.It has not seemed to effect my center of gravity at all and i have NO sag..It is amazeing how easy it is to steer now(big time added bonus).I hated the bouncy /mushey ride it had before, this was one of the best mods i have done.I would recomed to anyone looking to cure the sag and bouncy ride.
