Default 99 scrambler 500 carb question

In your case with the cv carb its called the "fuel/air" screw since the adjuster is closer to the front of the carb than say the 400,300,250 2-stroke carbs with the adjuster being closer to the rear of the carb and have "air/fuel"adjusters! Not trying to be a smart a**,but adjustment is more sensitive on your carb than the others! Plus if still has plug over adjuster, must carefully drill small hole, use a screw to pop out plug.Base setting should be between 2 to 3 turns outs. How I adjust one, especially if have one that has performance exhausts, etc,is to start at 2 turns at idle and turn out until starts to drop rpms, counting turns, and then in until rpm change,Then set midway between both points. BUT if just rebuilding, etc 2 1/2 turns out from lightly seated (closed) position should be ok. If boggy on accelerating, then try a little more out. Maybe I'm getting a little too technical, but depends on your situation. Plus this adjuster on either type carb affects basically just idle and slow jet response. Good luck
