Excellent! Sounds like the Moose mount may be more rugged than the Polaris mount.

Can you do me a big favor... the next time you crawl underneath the front of the bike, can you measure how thick the mount is where it connects underneath past the drain plugs. I will double check the Polaris mount, but I bet it's not more than 1/8" thick.

Yea, my fairlead was chewed up a bit by the steel cable. I got a new machined fairlead for the synthetic rope.

DCT - I want to mic it to check for sure but haven't got a chance yet. While pondering the spring replacement job - I did take a look. I would guess it is 1/8 plate. Didn't quite look 3/16.

 

you guys sure got some great ideas, i just went out to my new glacier 2 and removed the winch bar and found a small clevis that fits perfect i removed the clevis bolt and added a bolt long enough to go through the clevis and the mount. works perfectly. by the way i have it mounted to a xp 550 so the winch is mounted low i raised it until the blade hit the stops and still had plenty of clearance between the plow and the grill. i dont have a brush guard installed though. happy trails!

Sounds like it's about the same thickness as the Polaris mount. Sure hope it is built to better specs with stronger steel and better hardware than the Polaris.
