Default starter gear is retreating

Hi
well, the fly wheel teeth are OK.
I tested the battery with special tool and it is in good condition.
It seems that the charging is fine, if the battery reads OK after a year.

My conclusion is that is is the starter motor, I will open up the starter motor
and will test is by the book.

will update soon...

Thanks

Ron

Default starter gear is retreating

solution~~
Hello,
I did some tests and I think that the problem is certainty the starter motor.
I will have to put in another motor in order to be sure.

Anyway I did find a way to make it work, I tryed to put my old starter gear in order to eliminate the gear, I was very surprised that the problem was solved when the old gear was in place.
It appears that the old gear weight spring was missing and it add some friction to the retreat of the gear, when the engine fires it push the gear back to place.

I have try this several times and it seems to be fine.

this is only temprarly. I will order a new starter motor

Thanks

Ron
