all of my wheels have doen it. as far as coating them i dont know if powder coating would w/stand the heat. either way they would have to be 100% clean of any materail and most likely be in an acid bath then sealed? theree again this is only my guess.</end quote></div>
The powder coating finish is "baked" on but I don't know at what temp.
It would look good and if it wasn't affected by the exaust heat would be very durable and rust proof!</end quote></div>
I have a Harley 125 Hummer 1957 that I was going to get the frame powder coated until the guy that was going to do the job told Me that it would go up to 400 deg.I decided to not get the frame done.
If the exhaust temps go above 400 deg.I would say it probably would not work so good.
That is all I know about powder coatings, someone else might add a little more to this and then I too will know a little more.
No I did`nt spend the night at Holiday Inn Express.

They also make High Temperature Powder For Headers & Exhaust Applications. These silicone based powders can withstand prolonged service temp. of up to 1,000 degrees. Ideal for applications such as grills, stoves, furnaces and engines. Does the header get over 1,000 degrees?

if you were serious about looking to having anything doen to the pipes you would be way ahead of the game to just have them jet hot or another company ceramic coated to do 2 jobs for the price of 1. when i thought about having mine done on my 08' i did some searching and founs they do make a very high temp(like what was stated) for a reasonable price. i think if you do a search on here you'll find some info on it.
