CV joint removal
#3
The shaft is held in the CV joint by a spring-clip. Usually a sharp tug is all that is needed to seperate them. You will likely have to remove the ball joint at the bottom of the strut off the a-arm to get enough clearance to remove the shaft from the CV joint. When you put it all together, be sure that the shaft 'clicks' back into the CV joint.

Definately a sharp tug. Actually it took a block of wood and a hammer to get mine off. (The wood acts as the strike surface to protect the CV joint from damage). Doesn't that suck, all that work to replace a boot? Such is life...ignore it and see what happens!
