Default STICK STOPPERS +SNOW -ICE = TORN BOOTS AND STRIPPED AXLE....

Went riding MLK weekend and had very cold temps..-13 to about +28 degrees..The STICK STOPPERS filled up with snow and ice and froze up..When I moved the atv it spun a rear axle and ripped three boots...The answer to this problem is remove them in the winter I GUESS...Costly lesson learned !!!!

I saw this mentioned on another thread; good to keep in mind as I never would have thought about it.

i've always said riding in the winter w/ snow and ice is the hardest on an atv for that very reason. sorry to hear you learned that expensive lesson. need to have in a heated garage to melt off after the snow ride for sure.

Stick-Stoppers bolt on to the rear a-arms to pervent sticks from tearing your boots..they work very good as long as it is warm.Just removed mine and will not reinstall until spring time..(Stick-Stopper is the trade name for cv boot guards)..

Sorry this happened to you DELUX500EFI... but thanks for posting it, as it may save some other folks from the same problem. I would have never thought of it.

Yes, found the same problem on my BF. Never broke anything, but the stick guards just carry everything with you. I'm just fine not having them.

we were just out in garage looking at our other Sportsman that never went on trip..Last rode deer season ..It has a lot of mud and debris stuck up top of the stoppers..We are thinking of serious ditching them..They catch everthing and there is no way out..They work almost like a scoop..open in the front and closed in the back...
