Default 25" tires on a Trail Boss (TB)

All -

Just wondering how my SP450 stock 25" tires
(whole set) would do on my friends Trail Boss?

My thinking is when I upgrade my tires on the SP800
this year, I will then transition my 26" tires to my SP450
then I can wheel&deal (no pun) with my friend. I know the
TBs tires are smaller from looking at them but I don't know
the measurement. I am thinking he would get better tread
and an inch clearance possibly?

Any issues with needing clutch adjustments or spacers or
anything. From the looks, seems that it would be a good fit.

Thoughts?

Thx,

R'

i would say it definatly would need a clutch kit. thats a big jump on tires sizes for a tb.

I suppose it depends on the year, but the newer ones are 23 front and 22 rear, same as the Scrambler/Trailblazer.

He has a 2005 TrailBoss and I have a 2006 SP450 (wifes, didn't sell, decided to keep it).
I thought it was something like 23" or 24". But would he really need a clutch kit or something
that aren't really big tires?

Thanks for the info.

didnt know they upped the sizes on them. if its only an inch or two and they arent heavy tires then it would probably be ok. if they are heavier tires it takes more force to get them going which would require a heavier primary spring.

You know I forgot my cousin has two Hawkeyes for his boys. I wonder if my SP450 25" 489s
would fit on their Hawkeyes, may be a better way to go. Not sure the stock tire size on them?

Same question, any wheel spacer kits needed or clutch mods?

I had a 1997 Trail Boss 250 with 25" Bearclaws and had no problem at all. Had it 4 years with those tires and never a problem.

To compensate for the bigger tires lighten up on the secondary spring tension
