Next time I'm at my dealer I'll check. He had an 850 in Stealth Black, an 850 LE in Nuclear Sunset, and a 550 in Camo.... Jeezzzzzzzzzzz.... it's killing me! LOL LOL

HO, you said you changed your mind when you saw the green one. The green is the same from 08 to the 09 XP. My Dad's Sage green 08 800 is the exact same color as the Sage green XP. The Stealth is different. I think we all knew that way back when Metallica had the first one on Highlifter.

There was close up pics of the Stealth on HL.

There is different paint from the fenders to the rest of the machine as I stated. I have a friend with a 07 500 Stealth, and my 500 is the painted black. Both are different from the XP's.

Whether it is red, black, or green...they are all painted.

Yes the XP black is different than my 08 800 was.
Yes it is painted.
No it does not appear to be clear coated.
It appears to be pretty durable (so far).

I like the black personally, besides the look if you do get a bad scratch or rub, the plastic underneath is also black. Hardly shows and is easy to touch up.

 

You are probably right about the clear coat. I'm not sure. I'm not a paint guy. That would explain why the black on my 500 scratches alot easier than the XP stealth paint.

 

Yes I am sure the Stealth paint is a tough as diamonds!

 

When you bought your XP, was there a stealth there also?

I could be wrong, but I thought you chose the green because you liked it, and I thought that was the only color available for you then.
