Throttle lagg on take off

Default Throttle lagg on take off

okay just a quick question...i havent riding my 500HO in a while and i went to ride it today and there is a lag of about 3 sec when i pin the throttle before it starts to take off...i dont think it is my belt or clutch do i need to adjust something on the carb?

if its been siting for more than about a month i would clean the carb. doesnt take long for this ethanol gas to start seperating and causing problems.

and if that dosent help what is something else that could be wrong?? i just want to figure this out, its getting warm here i want to ride 2marro!!!

could be a clogged fuel filter semi fouled spark plug worn clutches.

i would seriously start with a carb cleaning.

Chances are the front clutch is sticking.Take the belt off and push it in.Look to see if it comes all the way back out.If not you have a bushing sticking.

carb carb carb. clean it well. make sure your pilot screw is 2 1/2 turns out or that will stutter on take off.

Listen to the engine, what does it do when you pin the throttle? does the engine RPM raise, or cough and sputter? If the engine rpm jumps but the bike doesn't move right away, then most likely clutch, if the RPMs are slow to raise or it sputters, most likely carb

okay i will start with the carb, now on the pilot screw i put it all the way in and then out 2.5 turns right...will doing that affect my jet kit?

if it is afour stroke 500 4turns onbottom screw.makesure that the needel is not have a flat spot.if need help just ask glade to join site.can help people if you help me.

if tou have a jet kit stage 1.sorry all most miss gided you.how many feet below or above sea.
