i cant tell what the differences between the oregon and colorado are. but the colorado has all that i need. looks like my next purchase.
I've tried amazon and ebay....anyone know cheaper sites for gps?</end quote></div>
I think the Oregon is touch screen and it's heat sensitive therefore you can't wear gloves to touch the screen. Not positive on that.

The Oregon is a touch screen more geard to boat/water users wheras the Colorado is geard more to the Mountain/hiker users (external antana). The Colorado will do much better in dense forests wheras the Oregon ecells in the more open areas!

which ram mount is fr garmins? universal? or type specific?</end quote></div>
Here's the link I posted earlier to RAM Mounts. http://www.ram-mount.com/ramgps.htm Pick your model from the drop-down menu. Here's what a handlebar mount looks like for a Colorado 400. http://www.ram-mount.com/index_files/ramb149zga27.jpg

It looks like a typo. "t' designates topographic, "i" is inland lakes, "c" is coastal waterways.
I would just ask the e-bayer exactly which model it is.

Randy,
I needed a GPS for riding here in AZ also. Went with the 60csx. It is a great unit for under $300 at walmart.com. However, be prepared to send an extra $100 for the mountain topo maps you will need to make it useful in the forest. I'm not 100 percent certain, but I thinking that geocaching.com only supports Garmin units.
We've been able to find several geocaches out on the trail, there are hundreds in the high country and lots around the Valley. My kids absolutely love the hunt for the caches. Well worth the $400 total.
Lastly, Yahoo has a club for 60 series owners that I have found as helpful and informative as ATVconnection or the Riding Arizona web site. They can help you get started.
