looking for a gps unit

All GPS units support Geocaching. Some just have integrated features that make it "better" for Geocaching.
As for the topo maps. While they would add more contour lines, I get by just fine with the preloaded base map. So I wouldn't pay the extra money for the topos until you find a true need. Also, I have mapped all the trails i ride and have them stored internally on the micro-SD card.
The 60Csx and 76Csx are quite similiar, except the 76Csx floats, accepts a larger micro-SD memory card, had tide tables, but most importantly has a transreflective screen that does a much better job with sun reflecting on it. This was important to me being mounted on my handlebars and having the sun shining on it. The 76Csx always stay legible and doesn't "wash out". The floating part is also a nice addition in case it pops off crossing a river

Randy,
I needed a GPS for riding here in AZ also.
What part of AZ? We're in Lake Havasu and usually go up to Williams and ride to Sycamore canyon.

No the colorado has base topo maps built in. But I think if you want 3D mapping you will need to by area specific maps to be able to use that function.

Little story about Garmin. I bought my first GPS (GPS45) about 20 yrs ago. While out on my SeaDoo in the ocean, I looked down and saw that my GPS was filled with water. I didn't secure the battery compartment. The warranty was about a year out of date. I called Garmin and asked if it could be fixed. They said to send it to them and they would take a look at it. About a month later I received a brand new unit. I called as an honest person would and advised them my warranty was up. They told me they knew that and to enjoy my new GPS.
I've had about six Garmins since. I have a GPSIII plus I use on my ATV and I can't justify getting a new one. Look at my pics. Ram Mounts are the way to go. Good Luck .

You don't have to worry about a Garmin getting old and out of date. My GPS 12 is older than dirt but I keep the software up to date on Garmin's website. I don't know if other brands are like that, but I thought it was worth mentioning.
