When I get my IRS tax returns back, I plan on buying four ITP .190 aluminum rims and four Titan 489 A/T tires. These tires are the stock ones on the new Scramblers. They must be better then my very worn out Goodyear Wranglers. How long do those Titan's last? I still want to be able to spin my tires fast. My Goodyears wore like iron! Also, is Rocky Mount. the best place to buy these tire/wheel packages?

Adam, how long the titans last is really up to where you take em, on hardpack, gravel & blacktop they will wear quick. I traded mine in after 2 seasons for some 6 ply holeshots (xct) , now thats one tough tire. I also had to use the slime in the tires, the rear tires semmed to pick up nails and thorns any chance they had ( I like to make my own trails) If they have them in stock ,I would use rocky mountain to get them. Good luck in whatever you purchase Bob

I have the Titans on my SC500. They are a great tire. But like NY said, if you use them alot on hard pack or on pavement,(like we do to get to our trails, they wear really quick). If your looking for a tire to get some spin out of, like slidding them thru a corner. Forget it, these tires stick like glue. We have a track we race on and have some really loose dirt in the corners, if your not careful you'll bicycle your bike. The only way I've gotten spin out of the Titans is in sand.
As for buying the rims and tires. I've spent the last 3 weeks looking for the best buy, and Rocky Mountain by far is the best buy. And food for thought, I would get the .190 if you do any aggressive riding. Which you probably already knew that, that for basically for new comers.

Hey guys~
If you want to get some holeshots for cheap, look to the back of the March2001 4 Wheel ATVAction magazine. Chaparral has the 22x11x10's for $58 per tire, or $185 for 2 tires and .190 Douglas rims. the 23x7x10's are $45 per tire or $148 for 2 tires and rims. That's the best deal I found in the magazine and almost $40 cheaper than Rocky Mtn for 4 tires and rims. I would go for the holeshots over the 489's...they will give better traction in dry conditions and cornering. In mud, they won't be as good, but 4 wheel drive will solve that problem! Just my 2 cents.
