Default cv boot

I have everything taken apart and cleaned up but I didnt notice until it was too late that the cage needs to go a certain way. The cage has a groove on one side of it and I just need to know if the groove fits the hub side or faces the axle(inner boot). Also I am having a hard time loading the ***** back in the cage is there some sort of trick to make it easier. Thanks alot

Default cv boot

you know after doing this simalar thing about 25 or so times i cant answer how the cage goes in. but the ones iv done there seems to be a smaller end. i put that inwards twards in inside of the cv joint. and the first time putting the big ***** back in will take some time but after the 3rd of so time it will get easyier. but if i rember. put the cage in. then add one or two ***** at at a time and rock it back and forth tell you can get them all in.
