a buddy of mine took this bike in on trade and has been having some problems with it. it will run fine for .5-1 mile and then start back-firing through the airbox. he says you can turn the key off, start it back up and it will run fine for another mile or so then start acting up again. anybody run into this before and if so, what steps did you take to correct it? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks, jason

First thing that comes to mind is T-bap sensor harness shorting out . Located on top of throttle body. Harness repair kit # 2875542 First I would trace wires down to main harness for cuts in wiring and also jiggle harness to see if you can get it to act up. Have had several of these. Also rubber sleeve on sensor going into throttle body must seal properly. Hope this gets you started.

could be the fuel pump starting to break down as well as a few in that year did. imo.
