If you have the cotter key and castle nut off the hub should pull off , if not you must have messed up bearings holding it on and may have to try to get ahold of the bearing with needle nose pliers to get it out, yes you can change ball joints, use a propane torch to heat the metal around the ball joint and pull it with vise grips, need heat to put the new one in also, you will have to get it pretty hot and if you have the new one all ready it will go back in while hot, I use a deep socket the same size as the ball joint and tap it in with a hammer.

hey man thanx the bearings are shot as i can rock the whole hub up and down.. but as far as the ball joint shouldn't i feeze the joint so the metal contracts and heat up the strut to expand? not heat both. but ill try doing it myself as my local atv shop charges $110 an hr..
