2002 700 Twin Losing Power

My machine just started having a little problem, it warms up and sounds great, but when I hit the throttle it kind of boggs down. Other times it will work fine. Something doesn't seem quite right, has run great until now. Could it be fouled plug? water in gas? Air filter needs a cleaning? To me it almost sounds like a gargling sound and has a heck of time going over 20-25 mph. Anyone have any insight on this?

Could be carb or Ducati coil pack which has a bad rep for going out. Starts shorting out on some,on others customers just turn off and wont restart! Check carb first,could be just trash or even plugs! (BKR7ES NGK IF you still have Champions installed)

It starts up and idles good all the time even with this problem that just started. Even when I am in nuetral and rev it a little it sounds good. Actually doesn't even sound bad when running in reverse its pretty much in high or low. It runs great for stretchs and i'll turn around and come back down my street and it'll act up?

Could be water in fuel,just drain tank and carb,fill with fresh gas and make same runs,if acts up,my moneys on the Coil pack breaking down! Hopefully just water or trash in fuel system!

Yah, I have the same exact problem with my Polaris 700 Sportsmen, it used to run great then all of a sudden it would sound funny and go really slow, and i stop it might stall. Now it won't even turn on, so im gonna try this stuff to.

Checked the plugs, they were good, drained the gas and put in fresh, drained gas through carb, cleaned out air box and sprayed some carb cleaner up into the carb, now it runs worse then it did before!!!!! That's not supposed to happen!! Which direction should I turn now? Thanks

[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] Dont clean AT the carb,BUT inside the carb,primarily the main and pilot jets and check needle and seat for wear. After carb is clean,has fresh fuel,new plugs,clean air filter, and good fuel supply to carb,See how it runs then. If still bad then maybe possible coil pack breaking down! Good luck

Alright, if I could have some more help that'd be great! Found one of the problems(bad spark plug boot replaced) coil packs are still good, hooked them up to glow indicators to the spark plugs and had equal glow on each side to the plugs from the coil pack. New air filter, plugs, gas. Cleaned the whole carb EXCEPT the needle and spring part...how the heck do you get that thing apart? It runs better than it ever has except for when you go like a raped ape and slow down go around a corner and throttle back up it still bogs down. I can now get to high speeds without it bogging down but low speeds it takes a second for it to kick back up. When you rev it in neutral it revs up nice but it takes several seconds to come back down from the throttle increase. What the heck is going on here, I think I've almost got it, it seems like a minor problem....am I wrong? Thanks for any help!!!!
