Default powering fan with acc plug

Just wondering if there would be any problem powering my fan by connectiong it to a extra acc plug that I have and plugging it into the acc plug spot. I'm trying to find out why it's not turning on by itself instead it's overheating but that's another issue!!!

shouldnt be any problem at all. its just a 12v fan running from a direct connection to a 12v source

Its sounds to me thateither your temp switch is bad or your fan is dead.........I believe if you disconnect the plug on your temp switch the fan should kick on .....if it does your switch is bad.. If not check the power going to the fan.......

when I unplug the temp sensor the check engine light comes on after about 10 sec but that's it not hot light and the fan doesn't have any power. The fan works when i hock it up directly so there's something inbetween that is not working

I think there was a recent post here here about NAPA having a temp sensor cheaper than Polaris..Might be worth a try.............other thing you could do is heat the engine up and see if the switch is closing using a ohm meter
