Default Valve adjustment

I now have just over 1000 miles on My 400 and am going to adjust the valves.
I have over 40 years experience as a mechanic with the last 31 years in the heavy mechanic field.
The procedure I am used to using to adjust valves is with a dial indicator rather than feeler guages.big engines seem to have room enough to get the indicator mounted.
Has anyone ever used the dial indicator method for adjusting valves on their polaris machines??
If so what style of holding fixture did You use??
If not then I will take a run at it then post pics of the clamping device I have come up with and also of the indicator in action.

Default Valve adjustment

Just pull plug, remove valve cover, pull recoil slowly until intake valves start to come up and ALIGN cam sprocket index pin top dead center of head, this is TDC. Can also pull 14 mm plug on recoil assy to check "T" mark also. Adjust intake and exhaust to .006 clearance. Use 2 feeler gauges on exhaust rocker arm adjusters to keep aligned properly. Not necessary to use dial indicator,PLUS a little hard to use in this deep plug machine. I only use dial indicator on old Huskys other old dirt bikes for timing adjustment. Our KTM 4 strokes have a locking bolt for crank that holds at tdc for valve adjustment, best way to time cams, adjust valves, etc that Ive seen.
