Hello all,

Just wondering if someone can give some info what my problem is on the kid's atv. Its a 2001 Polaris Scrambler 90. It runs fine but the electric start is not working. I have tested the the ignition, the starter button and bought a battery for it. I replaced the starter relay thinking that was the issue but its not. If I pull the starter relay out and jumper the switch side of the relay holder it engages the starter, so somewhere upstream of the batter and starter relay is my problem just not sure what to check next or how to check it. Any help you guys could give would be greatly appreciated.

If brake switch/starter interlock located on left side is not working OR if you dont hold brake lever in,wont start! Common problem for them to go out. Little plastic plunger pin that locks into brake lever. Hope this helps

Good indication switch is bad is if brake light doesnt come on when brake lever pressed and bulb is good!

 

As soon as I get all the snow plowed on the other atv I am going to check those things out, thanks so much for the help.

 

ok, got it working, the brake always worked but there where a few connections in the wiring that were loose. also it makes a dragging noise when i try to start it, kind of like a started hanging on a vehicle, but it does work! thanks again for the help!
