Default 550XP is leaking oil.

I noticed this about a month ago and thought perhaps being a new machine (it only has 4mi and 4hrs now.) that it was oil that spilled from being added in from manufacture.
I wiped it off and would keep an eye on it. Well yesterday i started it up, let it run for a minute then drove it up to the house, when i got off i saw that there was a little bit of oil hanging off on the right side (if you were sitting on the machine).
Now ive taken off the side panel when i first saw it and didn't see anything that would cause it to leak.
Its a small amount of oil thats on there but id like to know whats causing it.

Any ideas guys??????

Here's a pic and ive circled the area where the oil is spotted...

I called the dealer and he seems that it might be nothing but definetly said to bring it in. It is under warranty!
Im going to head out there and take the plastic off and get a better look at it.

malibu,

Whatever you do, don't let the dealer tell you "it's nothing". If it is leaking oil, it shouldn't... period! Don't take the quad back until you know it's not leaking.

Don't wipe off any of the oil... leave it on there.

There doesn't seem to be any oil running down the case, so it must be at that seam in the case.

Ok. I found out where the oil was coming from. I took the plastic off to get a better look and sure enough the oil is coming from the heads. Ugggh!

So my questions are now, Should i just get a whole new ATV? Yeah they can replace gaskets, but whats going to happen after that? Potential for more head gasket leaks? Not trying to be a poopie head about this but Its only a month old and of course like the rest of us paid quite a bit for these machines I just dont want to have to worry about another leakey gasket and that they have to tear into it to do this and have the potential as well for other problems..

What would you all do?

I've circled the areas where the oil is coming from..

Did you check it to see if the bolts were tighten from the factory. Hopefully it turns out to be that easy for you.

A Valve cover gasket should be an easy fix. Not a difficult repair. About any mechanic could easily do the gaslet replacement.
