Default how to determine rim replacement?

I know this is probably a pretty simple question but to be honest I have always left all my atv's stock with the exception of adding a winch. So now I am looking for rims so I can have a set with mud tires and the stock rims for when I won't be in much mud. I found a set but the guys says they are 4/115 and he thinks my Plaris Touring rims are 4/156. I have no idea what that means or how to figure out what I have. I am assuming the 4 is the lugs and 156 is the distance between the studs but not real sure.

Thanks
Rene

Yes, almost all polaris are 4/156 bolt pattern, so you'll need to find a set with that bolt pattern
They also have came out with 12" and 14" rims, your stock rims are 12", so that choice is up to you

What tires and wheels are you looking to get?

I found a set of black painted aluminum rims on craigs list but seems they won't work. So I will still be looking for black rims and I was thinking a set of 30" mudzilla's? Don't really know for sure because I have never bought mud tires before. Thanks for the info on the rims.

I have an 08 sportsman 800 touring and an 08 500 HO touring. I would assume they would fit both machines?

I believe they may fit, but it will be a tight on I think, expecially in the front, depending on how wide you go, also you may want a clutch kit, with that big of a jump in tire size, especially on the 500 you will notice a lot of power
Also if you don't do a fair amount of trail riding, you may want to check out the Maxxis 'Zillas, they're just the more mud and trail type tire, I think they have either an inch, or 1 1/8" lug, so unless you do some serious mudding, they will be better on the trails

Thanks for the tips. I will probably only use them on the 800 because that is what I ride mostly. The other is for my wife and I don't see her in any mud holes anytime soon! I was looking at the zillas a little and I think that is what I was leaning towards. Thanks again!

I would look around on the High lifter for sale forum, people are always selling tires and rim sets on there all the time, at very good prices
I'd also look on ebay if you haven't already
