If the stator plate wasn't removed, only the stator itself replaced timing should be ok.. Timing is at the 23.5 degree mark @3000 rpm.

Default only one spark!

I have two Honda trx 125's that did the same thing after messing with them for days I finally just got a friend to pull me around the yard for about30 seconds and they both started working. Also did it to another 87 trx125

When you hit the starter button and check the spark plug it will spark one time when the motor turns over then no more, when you hit the starter again you will get one spark again and then none. Has anyone had this problem with the 400 2 stroke before? I am thinking that it is in the stator but don't want to buy one if that is not the problem. Does anyone have a service manual with tests for the stator assembly to help diagnose the problem? I appreciate any help or advice.
Thanks,
Brian Rhoads

IF everything is new from the stator up and still no fire, then either a connection or ground problem,or if any of the electrical parts are aftermarket Chinese entirely possible one could be faulty straight out of the box. Just recheck the manuals resistance specs on the stator, coil along with grounds and all connections and hopefully you'll find the problem.
