99 scrambler 500 4x4 auto
#1
a while ago my engine crapped out on me and i havent messed with it since. I just recently ran across a dealer with the same motor in a sportsman. He said 200-250 bucks will take it. So i figured that i would get that motor and put that in while i freshen up the other motor. Is this a good idea so far, price wise and simplicity? Im pretty good with my tools but i have never had to wrench on this before. Is there any tricks to this that i should know about before i start? What is the normal compression rating on these motors so i can check out the compression before i buy this new engine? Is the price right for this motor too if it is in good shape? Any help that you guys can throw my way would be really appreciated. Feel free to bring up things that i have maybe over looked or whatever.... i open for criticism. Thanks for any help i may get!
