I check for obvious things and have disconnected the connector for the on demand at the front diff. With it disconnected and the switch in 'awd' fuse is fine but as soon as I plug it up fuse blows. I am thinking its in the front diff but was curious if anyone had ran into this before?

The coil may be shorted.....You need to find out what the Ohms reading should be and go from there.............Caper..........
