You can remove the piston assy as 94 Harley suggested, but if inside of master cylinder bore is corroded or you can hone out and still pretty rough,a new kit may not help. check that you can clean up before you purchase kit(if you havent already) plus the inner cup seal with the new kit is easily damaged trying to install without the piston tool which is a tapered cylinder that you install the assy in first and then push in master cylinder bore. Plus the outer seal must be installed properly or will leak air. I'm NOT trying to be negative,ONLY sharing my experience with members! I'm batting about 50-50 on piston kits, depending on shape of the master cylinder. The other 50 percent I update the master cylinder to the later style which you would like 100 times better,BUT not cheap! Hope you repair yours, just take your time. Also on priming the master cylinder up you can do it off machine by using your thumb to partially block hole end while pumping lever OR on machine by clamping down on hose a little down from master cylinder which allows priming easier. Then bleed all brake fittings, starting at rear caliper first, then the fronts to remove all air. Good luck OPT
