Rattle from front end on SP800
#11
Thanks for the heads up Stendori. I was talking with one of my friends who has over 4k on his 07 800. He said that he too saw the bolt grinding on his but left it. He also said that with time his did make less noise. I want to prevent any issues from happening since I am out of warrant. How is the best way to cut the plug without damaging the threads & how much should I take off on it?

i copied this from my post on the drain plug-(on the drain for the trans. there is a magnet that is in the plug and you have to grind it down enough so the magnet no longer will stay in the grooves of the plug. i just took it down to a point where the where marks from the chain were gone.) if you were to look at ,my pic in the drain plug post you'll see how much it ground into the plug.

i have herd the same noise on my 08 800 as well. i have 300 miles on her now i only hear it when im going around 30to 35 it sounds like the heat schield vibrating i was able to make it stop wile riding by sqeezing my legs togather on the gas tank then it gose away so it must be something under the side pannels i have looked under there and cannot see anything touching so i am at a loss. after 35 -60 it stops and by the way i had the 800 going 65 mph and she felt like it had much more to go im very happy with it i put 264 miles on it in 2 days and had no body paine the day after what a comfortable smooth ride
