starting last night my scrambler started to back fire when i turned it off. it's not a loud back fire just more like a loud pop only after i turn it off, as soon as the engine dies it pops. any ideas would really help

sounds like the carb is out of adjustment...i would say that its running rich and when the motor is running its constantly pushing the unburt fuel out of the exhaust but when you turn it off those fumes dont go anywhere and end up igniting from the heat.

 

check the throttle cable free play it might be tripping the etc switch

 

check the plug to see if its burning rick or not and the other suggestions.
