Hey guys I got my fuel pack last week, and know I'm tryin to come up with some sort of mount system,
Do you have to drill holes in the rack for the mounts from Rotopax
Also what other custom mounts have you guys made
P.S. It's goin on my 07 700

Here is what I did. Took a plate and cut it to the size of the metal bars. I drilled 4 holes total into the metal bars that are on the rack & mount the plate with 4 bolts and lock nuts. I can take better quality pics tomorrow if needed. Just came back from a 200 mile trip and it worked perfectly. Just click on the web album below.

Attach the mounts to an aluminium plate like in Mr Thors picture above, but instead of drilling new holes, just use the existing ones for the metal tie-down bars, and replace the bolts with longer ones and spacers.
It's a cleaner job if you change your mind later.

I attached heavy duty double sided strips of velcro with zip ties to each corner of the rails on the front box. Looped the velcro and attached on the corners of the fuel pack. Also have a piece of memory foam under it to keep it from sliding around/getting beat up. Been working flawlessly for almost five years. Good alternative if you do not want to drill holes in your box for the Rotopax mounts. Be nice if they came out with a mount that was compatible with the popo set-up.
