Default cyclone pipe on a trail boss 250

has anyone ever put a cyclone pipe on a trail boss 250. Does it fit without modification. i have a 87 trail boss and may buy the pipe. Are there any horsepower gains from it. Is rejetting required? clutching required?

how loud is it? compared to stock.

You will have to rejet and reclutch.Just use the specs off of a Cylcone on clutching but Cyclones had a bigger carb so you will have to play with the jetting on your carb

Oh crap, I see I don't have 1. Yes you will benefit, but it will take a lot of tinkering. Doc

with a stock cylinder? aren't you going to need to port that 250 to match the pipe, your going to want exhaust and intake timing to be the same as the cyclone to get the maximum from the pipe, or its never going to "get on" the pipe

that is exactly my worry. i plan on doing no motor work to this machine. it is too old to invest all that money. but will just the pipe, assuming i can get it for cheap, will i really see and more gains, i am ok with jetting and switching clutch springs, but beyond that, i just don't think it will be worth it.

Yes you will see gains with the pipe and clutching without porting.
