Thumbs down Recoil rope wont pull back in!

Now comes the serious problem, in the past couple of weeks my electric start hasn't been starting up my 2005 sportsman 500 h.o. When i turn the key it only clicks once I checked the electric and it has juice passing through the selinoid to the starter. Like I said before there is a serious problem, I have just been using the recoil starter to fire it up until now. Today i pulled the rope my wheeler did not start and the rope did not reel itself back in. I do not know if there is a spring or if anyone knows of any diagrams about how you fix this. All advice is appreciated! Thanks, Matt

They do have a recoil spring but not sure how to get at. Think your base problem is a low battery either because of a weak battery itself or not charging. You should have 12.5 just sitting, 14 when running.

Take the right running board off, and you can easily remove the recoil assembly with a socket. You'll have it off in 5 minutes.
